Vaccination remains our primary defense against these infections. If you haven't yet received your annual flu shot or updated COVID-19 vaccine, I strongly encourage you to do so. As workers serving high-risk populations, your immunizations not only protect your health but also safeguard our participants, your colleagues, and your loved ones.
I want to remind everyone that all employees must wear masks when in direct contact with participants or in participant care areas, regardless of vaccination status. This policy aligns with Department of Public Health recommendations and is crucial for protecting our vulnerable seniors from respiratory infections.
As a reminder, please do not come to work if you're experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Common symptoms include fever or chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, and headache. Staying home when sick is essential to prevent transmission within our facilities. Contact your supervisor if you're experiencing any symptoms and follow our established protocols before returning to work.
Please continue to diligently follow all our current policies and procedures, including:
Wearing masks in participant care areas
Regular hand washing
Following all infection control protocols
Your dedication to these safety measures has a direct impact on the health of our participants. Thank you for your continued commitment to the health and safety of our On Lok community.
