Great job On Lok 30th Street Senior Center staff and senior community for planning another inclusive and celebratory mid-summer event!
Peruvian Independence Day is a vibrant celebration that honors the country’s liberation from Spanish colonial rule. Every year on July 28th, Peruvians come together to commemorate this significant historical event with a myriad of festivities and cultural traditions. Our 30th Street garden will come alive with music, traditional dance, and mouthwatering food, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity.
While this event is not open to our entire staff community, you can still show your support for Peruvian Independence on July 28 by wearing red and white, watching a Peruvian movie, or enjoying some delicious Peruvian fare.
The Milk of Sorrow and Aloft are two movies by the famous Peruvian director Claudia Llosa.
Mi Lindo Perú is a Peruvian restaurant in the Mission District. Limón is a Peruvian restaurant with multiple locations in the Bay Area.
