In May, we celebrate our amazing nursing staff who continue to shine. My journey spans over two decades, and I am fortunate to serve those in need.
My career in nursing began at an Adult Bone Marrow Transplant clinic. I transitioned to the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU, where I dedicated the first years to making an unforgettable impact on children facing an unpredictable future.
In 2017, I found my true calling at On Lok, stepping into the role of Director of Nursing. As my family grew, I wanted to explore different avenues of Nursing and discovered a connection with On Lok's mission. It wasn't just about providing care but embracing a model that prioritized the community's most frail members, offering them medical attention, genuine compassion, and support.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to explore various areas of nursing, which has led me to realize that nurses are the backbone of healthcare. I enjoy how my ongoing training emphasizes a holistic perspective, which has given me a unique ability to understand our participants on a deeper level, impacting every aspect of healthcare.
I have witnessed remarkable growth at On Lok and among our fellow nurses. They have adapted to changes and actively shaped the evolution of the PACE model and nursing practices. I eagerly anticipate participating in this continued growth and look forward to the next chapter in my journey.
