On Lok is prioritizing workplace safety with the introduction of our Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP). All staff must complete the mandatory Workplace Violence Prevention training by July 31.

Why is On Lok introducing Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP)?

To help On Lok comply with SB553. This plan is crucial for ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all employees.

What is the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP)?

This plan addresses hazards associated with the four types of workplace violence as defined by Labor Code section 6401.9:

  • Type 1 Violence: Committed by individuals with no legitimate business at the worksite, intending to commit a crime.

  • Type 2 Violence: Directed at employees by customers, clients, patients, students, inmates, or visitors.

  • Type 3 Violence: Against an employee by a present or former employee, supervisor, or manager.

  • Type 4 Violence: Committed by individuals with a personal relationship with an employee but who do not work there.

Where can I find the plan?

The WVPP is available on On Lok Central under Security.

What do I have to do as a staff member?

Complete the mandatory Workplace Violence Prevention training through Emtrain by 7/31.


Anonymous Reporting:

All staff will have 24/7 access to anonymous reporting of workplace violence. You can report incidents anonymously via the reporting form here or by calling the hotline at (800) 361-4637.
