On Lok 30th Street Senior Center
How did you come to work at On Lok: I’m originally from Granada, Nicaragua. I was recommended by a friend that was working for On Lok during that time and thanks to her I was introduced to this great place to work.
What do you like most about your job: First of all, I feel grateful to have a great team around me. Everybody in the team helps each other in any way possible. Managers are top notch leaders. I really love my job because I like to interact with people, seniors and everyone else that’s part of this great organization. I take a lot of pride in doing my job to the best of my ability for the sake of everyone’s safety.
I like: getting along with everyone, reading, and outdoor activities, like biking, jogging, and going to the gym to stay fit.
I know: how to make people feel welcome when they visit On Lok Centers.
I could not do without: early morning coffee! It helps me function well in the early part of the day,
In my free time: I dedicate my free time to my family. I have a lovely wife and a beautiful daughter. We like going out to eat at different restaurants. We also all love to go to the movies.
My superpower is: is I’m attentive to people, I like to help our seniors and interact with them. I’m a good communicator too.

If you attended the All Hands meeting July 10, you heard CEO Grace Li talk about this. In case you missed it…
A few months ago, we asked you to share your experiences through our annual Employee Engagement Survey — and you delivered. Thank you for your honest, thoughtful feedback. We’ve heard you.
Throughout the over 700 responses, one message was clear: You want to feel recognized, seen, and valued for what you do, and who you are. This truly matters.
This company-wide culture shift invites all of us to create a workplace where recognition is authentic, visible, and shared at every level — from leadership, between peers, and across departments.
Together, we can create a culture where recognition is how we connect, communicate, and care.
What’s to come:
Departmental Employee Engagement Survey results will be reviewed and shared by your leaders to explore what this means for your team.
New opportunities to recognize each other — in meetings, messages, and simple, meaningful ways are in the works.
Everyone plays a role. Helping others feel seen and appreciated is something each of us can do — and it reflects the inclusivity On Lok values.
By putting Appreciation in Action, we can build a culture where recognition becomes part of our everyday language.

Renovations at On Lok PACE Gee Center are progressing well and remain on track for completion by the end of September. These improvements are part of On Lok’s strategic efforts to maintain our position as the leading PACE provider in the Bay Area.
This project has been years in the making and includes upgrades to both health centers, the rehab space, staff offices, break room, and showers, along with new flooring throughout. Enhancements to the Healing Garden are also underway. Additional improvements include the renovation of both the admin and clinic stairwells— with the admin stairwell undergoing a full remodel— as well as repairs and fresh paint to the exterior walls and updates to the interior stairwell on the Jade side.
Demolition began in 2023, but a number of critical issues had to be addressed before we could reach this stage. After resolving those challenges, I worked closely with the landscape architect and structural engineer to meet with senior leadership and design an optimal healing space based on National Institute of Health guidelines.
A big thank you to our partners who helped bring this vision to life:
GLS Landscape Architecture – Healing Garden design
Vahid Sattary – Structural Engineer
Giampolini Construction – Renovation of the stairwells, exterior walls, and Jade, Admin areas
Alpha Restoration – Renovation of the Rose, Clinic stairwell
Together, we're building a space that reflects our commitment to quality care—for both our participants and staff.

In the All Hands meeting earlier this month Grace Li, On Lok’s Chief Executive Officer, spoke about our Enterprise Initiatives for this fiscal year.
As we grow to serve more seniors, our top priority remains delivering the highest quality care. To support that, we’re making some big improvements behind the scenes.
One major upgrade is coming to our Finance and People teams: we’re launching a new system — Oracle — to simplify and automate many of the manual processes we use today. It’s a big change, and while it won’t be easy at first, it’s an important step to help us scale and work smarter.
We’re also continuing to improve how we operate. A recent transportation project is a great example — teams came together to solve a problem, improve efficiency, and free up time for more meaningful work.
Innovation has always been part of On Lok’s DNA. As we look ahead, each of us has a role in thinking creatively about how we can do better — and more efficiently — to serve our communities.
Another key priority is growing our PACE program — one of the best ways to strengthen our long-term sustainability while reaching more people who need us.
To support this growth, we’ve invested in two new PACE Centers in the South and East Bay, which will allow us to serve up to 800 additional participants. We also still have room to grow in our San Francisco Centers and at Community Day Services.
Every new participant means more lives touched — and a stronger future for On Lok.
Our third priority for FY26 is to grow and strengthen new programs and services that extend On Lok’s mission beyond PACE.
We’re planning for the expansion of Enhanced Care Management and Medically Tailored Meals, building on our partnerships and success in San Francisco to serve even more communities.
At Club 75 – Community Day Services, our dedicated team is creating a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQ older adults. We’re now focused on growing outreach so more people who could benefit from these services know we’re here.
And through PACEpartners, our consulting arm continues to support organizations nationwide in launching and improving their PACE programs. This work creates another avenue for generating revenue, while providing leadership and impact to the PACE industry.
We’re now entering the final year of our current three-year strategic plan — and it’s time to start shaping the next three-year strategic plan.
Alongside this year’s priorities, we’ll also be taking a step back to think about On Lok’s future. Where should we expand PACE next? How can we strengthen collaboration across programs? What unmet needs can we address in our communities?
The next phase will require thoughtful planning and smart use of our resources — but more than that, it will take all of us moving forward together with a shared vision. We invite you to help shape our next three-year strategic plan and you can expect opportunities to share your insights with leadership.
