Make Sure Your Voice is Heard!

Voting is one of the most powerful ways we can shape our communities, policies, and future. Every vote matters, whether it’s a local or national election, and your voice plays a vital role in decisions that affect education, healthcare, the economy, and more.

With the election right around the corner, we want to share a quick and friendly reminder about what’s allowed (and what’s not) when it comes to election activities for On Lok staff.

While we encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote and engage in the process, remember that as a nonprofit, On Lok doesn’t participate in partisan politics—and that includes our staff when acting on behalf of the organization.

Here’s the scoop: As an On Lok employee, you can’t engage in partisan activities, such as supporting or opposing any candidate for public office, in a way that suggests you’re representing On Lok. That means no using your On Lok title, email, letterhead, or department funds to campaign for any candidate. However, you’re totally free to participate in political activities as a private citizen—just keep your On Lok role separate!
