November is Corporate Compliance Month! This year’s theme — “See It. Say It. Secure It.” — reminds us that protecting our participants, colleagues, and organization is everyone’s responsibility.

Compliance is not just a regulation; it reflects our shared values and commitment to ethical conduct in all we do. Regardless of role or location, each of us plays a vital part in ensuring the privacy, safety, and trust of the individuals and communities we serve.

If you observe or suspect a compliance concern — including a potential privacy incident, unauthorized access to information, or improper handling of participant data — do not attempt to investigate. Instead, report your concern immediately so the appropriate review can occur.

When reporting, remember the Four W’s:

• Who: Whose PHI (Protected Health Information) was or may have been involved?

• What: What events or actions prompted your concern?

• When: When did the event occur?

• Where: Where did the event take place?

📸 Snap It, May Regret It

Personal cell phones may not be used to photograph participants or any material containing PHI. Even when faces aren’t visible, images can still identify participants. As we enter the holiday season filled with extra celebrations and activities, please be especially mindful of this policy.
