We’ve witnessed an incredible transformation in Peggy since she first started coming to our center. When she arrived, she was a quiet, introverted person. It took a little time, but after enrolling in several of our classes, Peggy began to open up and connect with others. Slowly but surely, she made new friends, found common ground with fellow members, and started to feel a real sense of belonging within our community.
As Peggy became more involved, her confidence blossomed in ways that truly inspired us all. She began participating in group activities, sharing her thoughts during discussions, and offering encouragement to others who were new or feeling shy. Her personal growth reached a beautiful milestone when she decided to step out of her comfort zone and dance with the On Lok contingent of Latin Dance Grooves at both our annual Gala and SF Carnaval. Watching Peggy light up the stage, to cheers and applause, was a powerful reminder of how supportive communities can help people rediscover their voice and embrace new experiences.
Thank you to Isabella Cabrera for the amazing photos!
