New in 2026, floating holiday hours will now need to be used within the same calendar year they’re granted.

Effective January 14, 2026, floating holidays are changing!

Here are the 3 things you need to know:

🏦 Separate Bank: Floating holidays are no longer added to your vacation balance. They are now tracked separately.

🗓️ Use It or Lose It: You must use your floating holiday hours by December 31 of the current year. They do not roll over.

🚫 No Payout: Unused floating holiday hours will not be paid out upon separation or at year-end.

Check your new balance in the time-off system and plan your day off before the year ends!

The FAQ linked here, Chinese, English, and Spanish, outlines how floating holiday works and what you’ll need to know to take full advantage of this benefit during the year.
