Effective May 1, 2026, routine indoor masking will no longer be required in participant care areas for staff or participants across all our centers. This marks a meaningful shift after several years of heightened precautions.
That said, masking continues to be strongly recommended, in alignment with guidance from the counties we serve. For many, masks remain a valuable tool for personal and community protection—and we fully support anyone who chooses to continue wearing one.
While routine masking requirements are easing, our commitment to safety is not. Our Return to Work (RTW) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols remain in place and continue to guide situational masking. This includes instances such as:
Staff experiencing symptoms
Caring for participants who are suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19
These protocols are available in On Lok Central and remain an important part of how we protect one another.
The Infection Control Committee will continue to monitor conditions closely and will adjust protocols as needed to ensure the health and safety of our community.
We’re grateful for the care, flexibility, and dedication you’ve shown throughout this time. Your commitment continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the participants we are privileged to serve.
