For our participants, "meaningful engagement" is as multifaceted as the individual. It might be the ability to button a favorite shirt, the confidence to cook a traditional family meal, or the fine motor skills needed to stay connected with grandkids via a tablet.
Whether our Occupational Therapists (OTs) are working in our centers or visiting a participant’s home, they are the problem-solvers. They look beyond a diagnosis to see the whole person—their history, their passions, and their goals. By adapting environments and teaching new techniques, they ensure that age or illness doesn't stand in the way of well-being.
To all of our incredible Occupational Therapists and assisting Rehabilitation Aides across On Lok, Thank you! You are an integral part of our participant’s ability to remain in their own homes, safely and with a sense of purpose.
Be sure to check out the upcoming April 27th issue of The Voice for an interview with San Jose Center’s Annie Wong and Rachel De La Rosa. These two dedicated Occupational Therapists are enthusiastic about their work and passionate about giving back as preceptors to the next generation of OTs.
