Windows 11 Rollout

As we prepare to update devices to Windows 11, please review the rollout timeline and follow the necessary steps to back up your data. Our IT team is here to support you throughout the process.

Windows 11 Rollout — What You Need to Know!

We’re upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 to boost security, performance, and your daily work experience.

Back up your files to BOX and save your Bookmarks before handing off your laptop. The process will take up to 2 HOURS.

Rollout Timeline

• Desktop Computers: Updates start Early May 2025 through June

• Laptop Computers: All staff members are required to bring their laptops on-site.

  NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED! Choose your date based on the location that works for you.

• Week 1 (05/19 - 05/23) - 71 Stevenson / SF Admin location

• Week 2 (05/27 - 05/30) - Gee Center (3rd floor Conference Room) (05/26 is Memorial Day)

• Week 3: (06/02 - 06/06) - Fremont Admin (IT Office)

• Week 4: Tuesday 6/10 and Wednesday 6/11 – Peralta Center

• Week 4: (06/09 - 06/13) - 30th Street (room TBD)

• Week 5: Monday 6/16 and Tuesday 6/17 – Powell Center

• Week 5: (6/16 - 6/20) - East San Jose Center

• Week 6: (6/23 - 6/27) – San Jose Center

How to Prepare

• Back up your files to Box

• Save your browser bookmarks to Box or email them to yourself

Why This Matters

• We must upgrade to Windows 11

• Faster startup and multitasking

• Easier password resets (no VPN needed!)

• Stronger security

• Cleaner, modern interface
